Industrial Training Program – 2014 on Virtual Instrumentation

This technological era calls for the need to create an institutional arrangement to facilitate technology transfer, to acquaint engineers for tomorrow with latest skills and best engineering practices, thereby, make them industry ready professionals. The engineering colleges need to re-orient its course curriculum towards the industrial requirements and upgrade its knowledge about latest technology continuously. It is important today to narrow the gap between industry requirements and prevailing engineering course curriculum and serve to the requirements of industry. With this perspective, AKGEC-NI LabVIEW Academy has offered ‘Industrial Training Program’ on Virtual Instrumentation for 6 weeks (from 12th June 2014 to 25th July 2014). This course was duly approved by MTU, Noida.

The participants learnt about the virtual platform, LabVIEW and real time data acquisition. During ITP, the participants were also assigned project work to control a real time industrial application using LabVIEW and its related hardware. These project works equipped the participants with basic understanding of test, measurement and control of a device using LabVIEW and apply their skills and creativity. It is recommended that participants must undergo advance training so as handle high end complex tasks of stand-alone applications.
