NI Days - 2015

NICE (Nurturing Innovation and Creativity in Education) in association with National Instruments has organized NI Days 2015 on 19th, 2015 in Bangalore. This event witnessed participation from Alliance partner of National Instruments, Scientist, educators, faculty members and researchers. Over 500 engineers, academicians and researchers witnessed the launch of a wide range of products designed to revolutionize the Industrial Internet of Things (IoT).

    Key Highlights for the event were-
  • Keynote speech delivered by Robert Morton, Vice President, EMEIA, NI.
  • Launch of wide range of products which includes:
    1. Highest Bandwidth CompactDAQ chassis to date, the new 14-slot USB 3.0 chassis, can stream measurement data at over 225 MB/s
    2. The world’s first PXI chassis with PCI Express 3.0 technology can stream with system bandwidth of up to 24 GB/s each direction
    3. The world’s first Intel Xeon-based 8-core PXI Express Embedded Controller can turn 24 GB/s of data into valuable insight
    4. The newest Single Board RIO controllers based on dual core ARM processor and ARTIX-7 FPGA technology, which runs the new security enhanced distribution of NI Linux Real-time.
    5. NI Wireless Test System (WTS):
  • NI India launched the latest version of its flagship product – LabVIEW-2015, with enhancement in speed and memory usage. 
  • Parallel tracks of technical sessions focusing on RF Design & Test, Embedded Systems & Automation, Data Acquisition, Test & Measurement for Low cost solution and Advanced Applications useful for the aerospace and Defence area.
  • In Panel discussion industry leaders, analysts and influencers shared their insights on how the ecosystem that exists in the country enables the 'Make In India' initiative. An Exhibition was floored featuring latest product releases by National instruments and also award winning applications.
  • Attended Director’s meet, where company leaders, dignitaries from various Engineering colleges and universities, faculty and engineers participated and discussed on the agenda “How we can further create a skilled engineer” In this meet various new startup companies shared their experiences and guided attendees to encourage entrepreneurship.
  • NI also announced the winners of its annual technical application contest – Engineering Impact Awards.
    1. ARAV Technologies for their vision based pre-dispatch inspection from the SME category
    2. Mahindra & Mahindra for their automated infotainment systems testing solution from the Systems category
    3. SRM University for their full duplex cognitive radio implementation using NI USRP RIO 2943 from the Academics category
    4. Digilogic Systems for their portable DRFM based radar echo simulation system from the Alliance Partner Category

  • Showcasing innovation by engineering companies, government labs, small and medium enterprises and students, all using their tools like LabVIEW, cDAQ, MyDAQ and CompactRIO. 
  • Price winning contest of Fastest Coder in LabVIEW was organized.
  • Feedback draw contest was organized, where they were provided a laptop bag to all attendees.
  • All NIYANTRA participants were given certification of participation.
